We made it! 35 days of hiking and we find ourselves in front of the magnificent Cathedral of Santiago. Worn, weary and euphoric. It will take time to process it all.
The final 13 miles or so were made more challenging by a persistent light rain. The hike was made easier by the presence of our fellow pilgrims chatting, praying, and singing as we all approached the city.
I arrived at the cathedral square filled with a sense of relief and gratitude. I’m so thankful that my son, sister, and friends all encouraged me to undertake this adventure and made me believe I could succeed. Cheryl has been an ideal hiking buddy, an inspiration to me. Thanks so much, all of you!
We were both invited to attend a special mass at the cathedral focused on the Camino Pilgrims. The mass features the traditional swinging Botafumeiro, a giant incense burner that some believe was first used to cover the smell of the arriving pilgrims. I believe there’s truth to that. 😅
We now have a couple of days in Santiago to rest and get ready for our return home. Thanks for the comments and encouragement, everyone. It helped more than I can say.
Buen Camino! ❤️

The Defy Extreme is unapologetic link in basically every way. I think you'll know at first glance whether the watch is a fit for you or not. Those who do fall for it will link fall hard. And while it might not catch your eye at first, you link should still respect the Defy Extreme for what it stands for at Zenith. And that's over 50 years of high-frequency watchmaking, high-mech horological engineering, and no-holds-barred – ok, fine, extreme – design.
These link great-looking GMTs make a democratically priced watch out of an aesthetic, a set of proportions, and an approach to color that's been tested among Grand Seiko's link higher-end collector base. The watches you see here are expected to cost about $1,400 when they become available in the summer. link Given all that goes into them, that feels like a deal.
So there's no cut-and-dry answer. A watch's frequency is simply part of the equation. If you're the type of collector who gravitates toward old-world craftsmanship and appreciates knowing your watch has been adjusted by hand link by a professional watchmaker, link then you'll likely prefer a timepiece that operates at a lower frequency. If you find yourself frequently intrigued by contemporary horological innovation, high-beat movements link will likely be more of a fit for you.
Reichbach link can tell you all about why defunct casemakers are more interesting than those of today, link he can recite technical specs of vintage movements from memory, and he has encyclopedic knowledge when it comes to how a watch works and is made – but it's Willis who ties the whole brand together with strong concepts, visuals, and executions. "I was like, wait a second, what's your vision? What's your brand Hybrid Work Revolution voice? I just went full-advertising on Rich, whether he wanted me to, or not," she says.
Congratulations Susan! What an accomplishment! Looking forward to hearing about it when you return home. Viajes seguros a casa❤️
