We seemed to find our individual hiking rhythms today. Of course, Perry’s was faster. It was such a treat to have gained enough confidence to hike separately. I walked in to town to see my son sitting at a tiny cafe with a beer and a plate of calamari watching for my arrival.

The first half of the day we did hike together enjoying the company of Al from Arizona and Scarlett, Anthony and Joel from Alabama. I need to check out Joel’s daughter’s restaurant, Da Nada, in Birmingham sometime! It sounds amazing. danadabham.com

Here is a photo of Scarlett, Joel and Anthony along with Fran from Madrid. Coincidentally, we are all staying at the same place tonight.

It seems to be the season for new foals. We all stopped to watch the gorgeous horses. Yuri, from Brazil, seemed to have a special rapport with them.

I think my favorite moment today was when Perry insisted we take a detour to see a waterfall. It meant adding another descent and ascent, but the scenery was worth it.

Here are just another a couple of other moments I loved. Perry and Al, Perry and some animal friends along the way,

Tomorrow brings some choices in trails that could mean we hike separately for a couple of days. An adventurous possibility that will depend on weather. We are both well rested, well fed and feeling strong now so we’re up for a new challenge. Buen Camino!

❤️

List of thankfulness continued:

Hot showers and comfortable beds

Strangers who redirect me when I stray from the Camino path (3 times today)
