Day 2 - Change of Scenery

Rest assured, we are never alone as we walk the Camino. We have chatted with folks from Germany, Holland, and the U.S. Both days we have had local gentleman go out of their way to encourage us, guide us, and send us along with a cheery "Bom Caminho!" So kind.

We left the beach and strolled boardwalks that took us inland along a lush golf course and small farms. Then we were tickled to hike through our first forest. This section was very well marked and we didn't need to use the app that we referred to yesterday.

The gentlemen of Portugal have been so welcoming, but we blew it with an older woman in a cafe when she chastised us loudly for entering without removing our, "Chapéu!" Of course we apologized, but she was incensed and gave us the stink-eye until she left. We will definitely not make that mistake again! 😂🎩

We had a wonderful revelation at lunch. Looking at our maps we realized that our hotel was only 1.5 miles away! A day that was advertised as 15 miles turned out to be 11. 🥳
This gave us time to rest and for Dee to walk the beach.
Keeping Count:
Camino bracelets given - 0
Men giving us advice/encouragement/directions -5
Fall totals to date - Susan 1 (I'm fine)
Dee 1 😜 (I'm fine too!)
Judy 0 🙏
Love to you all!
