Today we took a long walk and wound up in Burgos! We will have a rest day tomorrow which we are looking forward to.

Yesterday began with a charming Spaniard named Emilio giving us advice about how to approach the hike, “Poco a Poco,” little by little. He urged us to take our time and take breaks for bocadillo (sandwiches). I had a great conversation with Angelica, a 26 year old lawyer from Verona, Italy.

Cheryl and I stayed in different cities which meant that she took a taxi driven by a rakish, informative man named Rafa who just happened to be married to Rosa, the inn proprietress.

It was a long, rocky hike to Burgos. We celebrated this evening with tapas and red wine. We will probably both be zonked out just as the city-dwellers wake up to party. Tomorrow we rest up so we’re ready for the next phase of our Camino. Good night, friends and family! ❤️
