Yesterday's rain was followed by gorgeous skies and warmth, perfect for exploring beyond the city. We joined a small tour group that included Mohammed, a lovely man from Michigan, and two beautiful gals from Brazil, Maria and Lourdes.
Our tour guide, Carla, first drove us to Cascais where we explored the town and seaside. That was followed by time spent at Cabo Da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe. I was surprised to find a monument that mentioned my son's name! š

A winding road led us up to the village of Sintra and the PeƱa palace.
We wish we had more time to wander the huge garden, but we thoroughly enjoyed touring the palace.

A long day of sightseeing was highlighted by spending time with new friends.
