Savoring Shorter Distances

I have just finished 9, 12, and 13 mile days. The shorter treks mean I can stop and chat with fellow pilgrims at the rest stop/donativo snack areas along the way:

I am constantly on the lookout for my beloved bodegas. I hit the jackpot yesterday! Josss (3 s’s in his name because he’s an artist👨‍🎨) has created a bodega home and business providing pilgrims with local wine, coffee, juice, and handmade stamps. He was so kind to allow me to see his tiny kitchen where he brewed the best coffee I’ve had on this journey.

I spent much of one day with Sandra from Orange County, a lovely gal. Jude from Cincinnati just graduated from college and started the Camino with his mom. His dad will join him for the final 100km. 😊

I have been in need of distraction because I’ve been anticipating tomorrow’s climb to Cruz de Ferro and the treacherous descent that follows. It was the toughest day of my 2022 Camino. The rocky trail seemed never ending and I took a big fall. Here’s what the day looks like on a map:

I anticipate great weather and will wear my trusty Hoka shoes. Bring it on, Camino! 🇪🇸🥾❤️

Each watch also features a frosted bezel, but other than that, link these two new Royal Oak Flying Tourbillons are similar to the updated version Audemars Piguet link released a year ago: same 41mm, same self-winding caliber link 2950 (debuted in the Code 11.59 in 2019), same flying tourbillon at six o'clock.

I just ran into someone who did the Camino about 12 years ago and he had a great suggestion for the boring or hot parts and suggested go by moonlight!

What a cool idea, Clare. My friend Cheryl used to begin some days on the Camino before dawn wearing a headlamp. 🌛 It would need to be a full moon on a cloudless night for me to try it!🥾❤️

The last few days look almost comfortable compared to some you have experienced, - smart move to rest a bit for the next hike.

I am struck by the different kinds of pilgrims you have met. 👏

Onward. Santiago awaits. 🦋🍀

Slow and steady my friend. Remember Hailey coaching you and Kelli on how to walk safely downhill. You got this girl!!
