New shoes, socks and shirt! I’m no longer the shabby pilgrim. I did have to buy men’s shoes because the women’s sizes in Spain don’t go big enough for this California farm girl’s feet. 🤣👣

It was lovely to take a rest day in Logrono, a lively city famous for its tapas.
I love the huge bull statue overlooking the region I’m now entering, Rioja, renowned for its wine. The ruins in the photo on the upper right are a medieval pilgrim hospital, a reminder for me of the millions who have walked this path.
Camino Highlights:
1 - Meeting lovely Yeung a Kim as I left Navarrete. She is a Korean folk dancer who’s hiking the Camino solo. She’s 76 and told me that she and I are strong old ladies! ❤️❤️
2 - Meeting a young family from Tennessee, John, Cynthia and baby James. They are experienced Camino hikers introducing their baby to a mini Camino experience. ❤️
3 - Taking in the beauty of the well tended vineyards and shepherd’s hut on my way to Najera.
As I hiked along today I found myself reflecting upon how fortunate I am to be able to traipse across France and Spain while my wonderful son Perry holds down the fort at home. I am so grateful for each step, even the muddy ones.
Miles hiked: 582.3
Miles to Santiago: 382.7
Arrival date: July 4th

I can now say that it's the single component on this watch that brings me back to those old neo-vintage (that's what we're link calling '90s watches these days, right?) TAG Heuer Professionals. The brand has been using ceramic bezels for some time now. While ceramic is undoubtedly a more durable material with link its scratch-resistance and ability to retain its like-new appearance forever, it link also gives the 43mm Aquaracers a fancy feeling … an almost preciousness.
You look amazing after walking 582 miles!! And so color coordinated with your new shoes and fanny pack. I love the stories of your encounters with fellow pilgrims from all over the world, especially the 76 year old solo hiker!
I’m so impressed with you and can’t wait to walk together and hear your stories. Buen Camino my friend.
A makeover! But where is my pilgrim twin? Hope you got comfy shoes for the rest of your advendture. Miss you! Buen camino! xxx
