I am taking new routes that I was not aware of last time I hiked! Camino friends suggested a trail along a canal that avoided the bleak stretch of gravel trail that stretches miles along a busy road. What an improvement; it was lovely. I also met new Camino friends John and his daughter Antonia from London along the way.

Camino Highlights:
1 - Isabel who began her journey from her doorstep in Brittany. A lovely person and incredible hiker.
2. Maureen and Theresa from the U.S. Great conversationalists who made the miles melt away.
3. Gary from Salt Lake City. He is continuing the Camino on an e-bike after sustaining an injury. He’s married to Mary.
4. Visiting Moratinos again. It’s known for its wine storage buildings called bodegas. The town is nicknamed “Hobbiton” because the bodegas look like hobbit houses. I wish I could buy one as my vacation home!
Here is our honorary Camino guide/officer/news reporter, Gary. He keeps us all updated about what’s ahead as he rides along checking on his wife Mary who’s hiking. 😊 Thank you, Gary!

My final 5 miles today were on a deserted dirt road along an oak forest. I didn’t see another pilgrim the entire time. It was a branch of the Camino that’s often bypassed by pilgrims, but it was lovely and lead me to a beautiful Casa
Rural in tiny Calzadilla de los Hermanillos.
Buen Camino, family and friends. ❤️🥾🦋🇫🇷
A table of women order the beef stew, called caldereta. It's beef stew and tomato sauce, onions, garlic, bell peppers, tomatoes, and beef short ribs. It has olives in it. "It's very, very Spanish. link But what Filipinos did was add cheese and soy sauce, too. And put it on top of rice, it's just amazing." He giggles thinking of how good it link is. link The women agree.
I agree with Carol and Kelli, your Camino family grows every day! I was at a graduation party yesterday talking about how there are no strangers on your path. Minutes after you meet someone you make a connection! Buen Camino my friend. ❤️
I'm happy to hear that you're finding new routes through the Meseta. Looks like beautiful countryside full of lovely people! Buen Camino, Sis! ❤️
5 solitary miles of “deserted dirt road along an oak forest.” Wonderful!
Your turquoise shoes look just fine with ~100+ miles of dust on them. A right, proper breaking-in!
I will be sharing this with Katy in a few minutes. She sends her best.
