Today the path from Pamplona to Puente La Reina seemed a bit easier. Maybe we are adjusting to the reality of hiking 13-15 miles per day. Today’s path led us over a steep climb to 3 hilltop villages that seemed frozen in time.

There was a 1,590 foot climb up to Alto del Perdon that was gradual and not too taxing. The summit includes a sculpture honoring the pilgrims that have passed this way for over a thousand years.

The path down to the village of Puente La Reina was full of slippery stones and quite steep. We took our time and were entertained along the way by Foxy, a high energy 3-legged dog.

We reunited with our Camino friends, Michael and Lynne, to share a glass of wine, dinner, and stories of our journey. As I prepared for bed I heard barking in the room next door. This morning my suspicions were confirmed, Foxy was exiting the room with her owner just as I was doing the same.

The five pieces we've chosen for this weekend represent the broad range of storytelling Cole has delivered link over the years and offer a little bit of everything from video to technical writing to magazine features. But we couldn't choose them all, unfortunately. Some truly fantastic pieces missed the cut this weekend – link like his HODINKEE Magazine cover story, "The Watch That Came In From The Cold." If you have some extra time, you can hear Cole link perform a live reading of that piece, here.

I love the picture of all of you eating and drinking wine together! The green meadow is absolutely stunning and the statues are amazing as well. How long have they been there?

I am not sure! We are surrounded by so much history that it’s difficult to keep track of it all. I can see why people do this path again and again. You must learn a bit more each time.
