Day 39-40 Mud Strategy

Saturday was a perfect hiking day, blue skies, a semi-dry trail, and a good buddy to hike with for a bit. Iannick and I had a great conversation and lunch before he stopped for the day and I caught a ride from my innkeeper.
There were three other ladies who hitched along with us because they were tired and in pain. The next day they journeyed on from our Gîte, but I asked if someone could take me back to where I left off. I don’t want to skip any kilometers!
SUNDAY:
I woke to a consistent rain, put on my trusty raincoat, and hitched a ride from a young Camino officer back to my previous spot and started hiking.
It seems like every conversation I have with other pilgrims centers around mud, how many slip and plops we’ve taken and how to navigate mud successfully, Almost everyone has a muddy bottom by the end of the day. I am proud to report that I have arrived at my next hotel with mud only on my shoes. 🏆 (Small victories!)
