Day 25 & 26 Camino Lessons

31.4 miles of Camino rain, mud and hills in 2 days is teaching me so much:
Lesson 1: Take it one tiny step at a time or you’ll wind up sitting in the mud. (See photo above)
Lesson 2: Don’t spend 10 minutes cleaning your shoes. There’s more mud ahead.
Lesson 3: A kind comment, a smile, a laugh, an offer of a dry place to sit for a moment all make a difference when you’re experiencing obstacles together. Community in “misery.” 🤣

Salvatore from Australia reported that he actually skied the mud downhill. His pants certainly showed the evidence. Several folks at dinner shared that they chose to call taxis for fear of injury. They were probably the smartest pilgrims of our bunch.
Lesson 4: Stop often and notice all the beauty just beyond the muddy trail.
The next few days will be shorter in mileage and include more paved sections. 🥳
Love to all my friends and family. 🇫🇷🥾❤️

Wow! When I look at the photos of the very muddy trail, I imagine you must be exercising entirely new muscles to stay upright! That is hard work, but you are strong, prepared, and "cautious and deliberate!" ❤️ Keep on being awesome! We LOVE the updates!! Stan and I send love and best wishes as you continue your Camino adventure!
May the French Camino offer you clearer days ahead with much less mud and challenging weather. The beautiful countryside must certainly inspire you as you continue forward to new sights and sounds. Bon Chemin! 😎
I hope the gorgeous May weather arrives soon. You are a trooper. So glad you have great pilgrims around you. 😁🦋❤️🚶➡️👬💕
