We had a dramatic start to our day attending the pilgrim mass where we received beautiful Camino pendants that will protect us on our journey and then descending the steps and officially beginning our trek. There were pilgrims from France, Korea, Madagascar, Ireland and Taiwan, but we were the only Americans. This was a nice contrast to the Camino Frances hike I took two years ago where it seemed like 25% of the folks we met were from California.

On our way down the stairs we met Meggie from Taiwan who is hiking the Camino solo all the way to Santiago. We gave her one of our little commemorative bracelets and chatted as we began our hike. We hope to see her again along the way.

Here are the the stats from today:

Crisp morning weather and plenty of cappuccino put pep in our steps as we strolled through varied terrain and stopped to enjoy a picnic lunch provided by our hotel.

We are staying in a charming little hotel in Montbonnet run by Geraldine who greeted us warmly and later cooked us a delicious dinner. We are fueled, resting comfortably, and looking forward to tomorrow’s adventure.

Goodnight and Buen Camino, friends and family!

❤️🥾🍷🇫🇷

Okay, noted, but what does that have to do with a Marvel movie? Well, let's put link two and two together: There's a Royal Oak in Eternals, and it's worn by Kingo. Now I am not the first to notice this haute horology connection. I must give props to a friend of mine in the industry, Mr. Zach Blass over on Time + Tide. However, I put on my All The President's Men link journalism cap and dug a little deeper into the backstory of this watch link and how it came to be, so unexpectedly, in this film.
