My friend/hiking guru Carlos met with me today to plan out my next several months of training. After hearing that I had taken two big, bruising falls, Carlos decided that I had probably been over-training and not taking frequent enough rest days. He is beginning to increase his hiking to prepare himself for a Pacific CrestTrail hike in March, so our training schedules should coincide nicely.

Instead of hiking six or seven days a week, I will drop back to five days per week. I average about 6 miles per day with a longer hike of 8 or 9 miles on Wednesday. We have both been so lucky to join forces with Cheryl Tague, an experienced hiker with a wealth of knowledge and amazing hiking stamina.
