León is a huge, bustling, beautiful city. I couldn’t find any Camino markers to guide my exit and must have asked 5 or 6 people for help. They were unanimously kind, but I found myself feeling anxious. Put this country girl on a deserted dirt road and she’s fine, but a busy, loud city threw me for a loop.
Notice how faint the arrow in the middle photo is? That photo on the right is much more like what I need!😂
It took about five miles of hiking to feel like I was finally leaving León and its suburbs behind. I felt my blood pressure dropping as my journey transitioned to quiet country lanes.
I spied a charming donativo (donation) coffee truck and stopped to relax. It was there I met wonderful Rosa and her son Nicolás from Plasencia, Spain. Nicolás translated as he, his mom and I discussed the differences and similarities of our cultures. Rosa even called her other son in Barcelona so I could chat a minute with him 😊

I’m now in tiny Villar de Mazarife where there’s one market and tractors are driven down the street, much more my style! 14 hikes until I arrive in Santiago. 🥾❤️
Buen Camino!

Simply put, the man is a legend, and is largely responsible for the rise of the watchmaking industry link in Glashütte today. Back in 1845, Lange set link up shop in the Saxon town with the intention of turning things around after the region had hit hard times. The quickly link thriving craft of watchmaking brought new industry to the town. Lange also served as Glashütte’s mayor for nearly two decades, proving his commitment to the people.
I just love that you’ve found a village with tractors driving down the streets - just like Brentwood! How wonderful. And now on to your next adventure. Buen Camino! 🇪🇸❤️😎🍷
Got a chuckle and “I totally understand” from farm boy Bruce!
A country girl through and through. Great travels! Enjoy!
😁🦋❤️
Ahh, nothing like the sight of a John Deere to put you at ease! 🚜😸
