Day 6 and 7 - Longest, Coldest, Windiest Trek šŸ’Ø

We met a charming French pilgrim today who was so surprised to meet Californians along this route. He asked us how we learned about it and let us know that this region is the most sparsely populated in France; cows outnumber people. The terrain was desolate, dramatic, and featured few towns. Just as we thought we’d never see another WC or cafe we stumbled into a warm, charming hiker’s oasis. Chestnut cake and cappuccinos revived us and we shared stories and jokes with fellow pilgrims.

Here is our route for today:

ree

73 miles hiked so far, 47.8 miles to go for Kelli and Hailey, 892 to go for Suz. 🄾

Camino Countdown:

Falls - 0!

Blisters - 0!

Snow - flurries today. Tomorrow? ā˜ƒļø

Plateau de Fromage (Cheeseboards) - 3

Le Puy Lentil dishes - soup, warm with veggies, cold with veggies. Delicious!

Aligot - (smooth potatoes combined with cream, butter and cheeses. Waiters scoop with panache!)

We have a well earned rest day in Nasbinals where we’ll sleep in and do laundry.

It’s hard to believe that Kelli and Hailey’s hike is over half complete. We have made a great team and feel so fortunate to be here.

Sending love from Nasbinals.

The watch features dual gear trains, each with a remontoire, placed link in between the fourth link and fifth wheels. This creates a steadier rate and more accuracy due to the a constant and link consistent flow of energy and torque to each escape wheel. The remontoires are offset, each operating every 10 seconds but in tandem they release power every five seconds, giving direct impulse to the balance at the very end.

We have been strategizing about how to handle the cold today. Kelli and Hailey spend time at Lake Tahoe so they’re great advisors. ā˜ƒļø
