We have added 36.4 miles to our journey in the last two days. Lots of ascents and some slippery, stone filled descents. We have taken in the incredible beauty of the countryside and villages, chatted with our fellow pilgrims, and cheered each other on.

We nearly went in the wrong direction today. Thank goodness a young man saw us and yelled, “Ladies, this way for the Camino!”

We are currently in Pamplona. I was thrilled to have a glass of wine at one of Hemingway’s favorite bars.

Tomorrow will be a 14.1 mile day which will include another big climb. We will finish in a village called Puente La Reina.

This might be TMI, but we are proud to report that we are both currently blister free! I, sadly, am losing a toenail, but there’s little pain. We walked into a pharmacy here in Pamplona and I pointed to my toe and informed Cheryl of the impending loss. I didn’t realize that the lovely pharmacist was watching and she instantly sprung into action and recommended a treatment. This was all done with my terrible Spanish speaking ability. As I thanked her and left I said, “I am hiking the Camino!” She responded, “I know.” 😂

Is the rapid winding mechanism essential when you could simply pull out the crown and wind the watch? No. But these are adult toys. The more smartly color-coded buttons that correspond to the functions on the link dial, the merrier. Do these watches seem more technical than they are? Perhaps. Am I link willing to let myself be bamboozled by marketing because I enjoy getting a quick glimpse of a very link glamorous lifestyle that is not mine? Yes.

Susan, My comment was off the wall yesterday. You were in one of Hemingway’s favorite bars. Without my glasses on, tired eyes, and viewing on my cell phone, I thought the scene looked like a candle lit church and your holding your wine glass up looked like you had a lit candle and was holding it in your hand. Guess I have a good imagination!🥱❤️
