As we left the village this morning we stopped by a market to buy some fresh baked bread to snack on during our long trek to Conques. The weather was just above freezing as we left, but the hills quickly warmed us up.

Kelli and Hailey spotted another oasis for pilgrims, and we joined a friendly group of young folks from Paris. There was delicious coffee and biscuits provided “donativo,” for an optional donation. Marie and her dog Totu are hiking all the way to Santiago and generously offered to join me for my steep, rocky solo hike out of Conques on Wednesday.

We had been warned about the perilous descent into Conques. Hailey was patient and supportive as Kelli and I slowly traversed the trail.

The village of Conques was one of the inspirations for “Beauty and the Beast.” It’s tempting to break into song wandering these cobblestone streets. 🎶

Tomorrow’s hike looms large in my mind. I saw Louis in the village today and he’ll also be leaving at 8AM. It will be so nice to see familiar faces along the way.

I will miss Kelli and Hailey as adventure companions. Their trip takes them to Malta tomorrow where I know they’ll savor good food, more walks, and local history. Their kindness and encouragement have brought so much to this Camino. Also, they are badass hikers! 🥾🥐🎶🥖☕️🍷🎶🚜🐺☃️😘

Bon Chemin and Buen Camino! ❤️

But there's a reason for all those versions, as the Monaco remains collectible and a cult link classic in the world of vintage sports watches. You can spot a Monaco from across pit lane and a certain set of collectors go nuts for that quirky square case. And, with a brand as large as TAG Heuer producing only link 500 examples of this purple-faced salute to the uniqueness of the link Monaco, you may need to step on the gas if you want to have any hope of seeing one in the case at your local boutique.

The village of Conques looks over the top charming. It must feel so special as you approach each new village, and wondering what is around the next corner. I’m so happy to see that you are meeting new pilgrims who will be accompanying you as you continue solo on the Camino!

Susan, the picture of you walking with bread sticking out of your backpack is priceless!! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.

Congratulations Kelli and Hailey on completing your hike. And you have received the ultimate hiking compliment, you are “badass”.

I am so happy to know you will have someone to continue on with at least for a while. Buen Camino, my friend. I know Kelly and Hailey will probably have the bug now. LOL
