We feel like we’ve experienced every season on our trek. We began in t-shirts and shorts, made a quick transition to wearing every layer we brought to trudge through the snow, and now we have crisp days perfect for hiking.

We have covered about 22 miles in two days stopping to chat with fellow pilgrims and exploring tiny ancient chapels. We usually bring a small picnic with us and find a spot to relax, take in the view and have lunch.

Pierre and his dog Tchi helped us figure out how to detour around a closed path today. It’s wonderful how pilgrims are so quick to check in with each other about logistics and physical challenges.

As we made our way along the trail yesterday, we came upon a woman who was offering free cake she had baked for pilgrims. Delicious! We had a definite language barrier, but a gentleman translated for us and she gave us a blessing as we thanked her and continued our journey. ❤️

It must be working since we are all feeling strong.

I think the cows surpass us musically:

Last night we slept in Estaing, a spectacular town with about 1,000 residents. Tonight we are in Golinhac, home to 350 folks.

Tomorrow will be a 13 mile hike to Conques, a famously beautiful city. The weather report is predicting a high of 49° and wind gusts of 30 mph. Sounds a bit wintry to me!

So after all this, I've figured it out. I want the best of the Patek and the AP: A simple, yellow-gold AP QP. A later generation with those hidden pushers link so the case is perfectly suave and circular, and perhaps a sapphire caseback so I can look at the movement when I want to – none link of this skeletonized stuff that constantly demands my attention. I'm thinking a reference 25657 or 25661 will do just fine. Now, onto making link it happen while I'm still young enough to read those subdials.

I just love following your Camino and the special adventures that you are encountering. The cows and their cowbells are so special, as is the sweet older woman offering cake and blessings! Tres Bien!
