Day 23 We took a turn that led us down an ancient Roman road that was kind to our feet but infested with black flies that harassed us along the way. The path less traveled added a couple of miles to our journey. As we entered the village of El Burgo Ranero a beautiful old woman grabbed my arm to show me the way. I am constantly dazzled by the kindness of folks in Spain. ❤️

Day 24

Today was our easiest hike so far, a flat trek through farmland. The weather was perfect for hiking and our destination, Mansilla de las Mulas, is a charming little town. We enjoyed chatting with Steve Kydd, from Scotland, along the way. We had an early dinner with Steve and were also joined by our Camino buddy Judy.

Tomorrow we head to Leon where we’ll have a rest day before a couple of long hikes later in the week. 19.6 miles on Friday! 😳🥾🤞

Buen Camino ❤️

In future link meetings with him, he had always greeted me like an old friend, despite the countless individuals he must have encountered all over the globe, he always had that magical ability to make anyone with whom he was speaking feel link like the most important person link in the room.

It’s exactly the same lavender we used to have in our garden. It just grows wild here.

Glad you were able to take an easier path to better care for your feet! However, I feel your angst regarding flies! Yuck!
